How I got here…

I started programming when I was eight years old and I had no idea that it would be a part of my career path. I started designing digital experiences in the early 2000’s. From there, I started a wholesale & retail business and soon realized that building websites and digital products were my real passion. As a career-changing adult, I went back to school and studied graphic design and web design. My career grew quickly and I was offered the full-time role of teaching UX Design at General Assembly in 2014. This was fantastic because I was able to give back and help other career changers. In 2015 I started my UX Design agency, Digital Karma so I could hire emerging designers to help them build their portfolio and gain the experience needed to continue on their career path. In addition to my agency work, I host local design events to increase community engagement and mentor emerging designers. I continue to teach for General Assembly on the enterprise level. I am on the Board of Advisors for Santa Monica College’s IxD program. I speak and teach globally about UX Design. And, I also work closely with Adobe to speak and teach Adobe XD. I have been educating and mentoring emerging designers since 2014 and I am so excited to be a part of the Allora Collective so that I can continue this work with such an outstanding group of career coaches.

Big Change Requires Big Risk, But You Don't Have To Do It Alone
